About the Claire Louise School of Dance
Claire Louise School of Dance was founded in September 2000 by Claire Haynes, and holds classes in the Horndean area of East Hampshire. We aim to provide the best dance training for all ages from 3 to Adult in a supportive, friendly and enjoyable environment.
We teach the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance syllabuses in Tap, Modern, Jazz, Ballet, Disco, Rock'n'roll, and Street-dance disciplines. The Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD) is the largest and most highly-regarded Society of Dance Teaching in the world, and for those students who have attained the higher levels of I.S.T.D. exam success these are equivalent to some other educational qualifications (e.g. GCSEs).
All our teachers are CRB checked, ISTD qualified and First Aid trained; as well as being experienced dancers with a personal passion for dance. The Dance School has full Public Liability insurance.
We believe that the student's enjoyment of dance should always come first, and by giving the right encouragement and teaching they can all reach their full potential. Our current pupils include some with hearing and other physical problems which are being overcome through the power of dance.
We have regular exams, competitions and shows which help the students grow as dancers, and to feel a sense of achievement and progression. The school believes in sharing their pleasure in dancing with other people and regularly performs at various charity events in the local community.
Several of our past students have gone on to study Dance at Universities and Stage Schools, or are now teaching dance to a new set. Many others attend classes purely as an enjoyable and sociable hobby.
